In partnership with the ministry of water & sanitation,Machakos county government,Tanathi water services board, wasreb and other development partners, MAVWASCO has implemented programs to ensure customers access clean piped water at the comfort of their homes or from approved water kiosks at an affordable rate of KSH 3 bob per every 20 litre jerry can of water. We assure our customers of sufficient quantities of quality water at an affordable price

 

ENSURING ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY OF METERS

Our dedicated Non Revenue Water (NRW) Unit ensures that water meters are calibrated, tested and serviced on a routine basis to minimize on water loss and also ensure that our customers enjoy reliable services. JICA Expert team has been instrumental in us achieving this.

 SMART METER TECHNOLOGY

To improve on accuracy of meter reading and billing as well as reduce Non Revenue water, MAVWASCO has installed smart meters. The first phase of installation targets gated communities/Planned estates, water kiosks and large consumers. Greenpark estate has taken the lead in adoption

 

 Some of the key benefits of the smart meters include: Ability to read meters remotely with built-in radio communication,Ultrasonic flow Meter only records water flow and NOT air pressure, Meter logs and stores monthly meter readings for 36 months & 460 days daily readings in its in-built internal memory, Leak , Burst  and Reverse flow detection capability.

 ADOPTION OF MOBILE METER READING SOLUTION

To ensure 100% meter reading, Increase accuracy in meter reading and billing as well as better respond to customer complaints in regards to meter reading and billing we have digitized our meter reading by introducing a mobile meter reading application. The application will enable us on addition to receiving the meter readings to also receive a photo and GPS coordinates of the water meter.
