NON REVENUE WATER MANAGEMENT
MAVWASCO has set up a dedicated non revenue water team which among other duties is tasked to test, service and replace faulty meters.Water loss as a result of unaccounted for water currently stands at 44% a phenomenon which MAVWASCO is commited to change. to facilitate the team MAVWASCO has procured and setup a water test bench and built capacity for the NRW team.
in the year 2017,The ministry of water through Tanathi water services board procured water meters for MAVWASCO to boost its meter replacement program. Through this program mass meter testing for aged meters is being conducted and all meters found to be faulty are replaced for FREE.Customers with faulty meters but which are not covered by the above program will have their meters tested and replaced and the cost of meter purchase borne by the customer.This meters are flagged as stopped meters during our monthly billing cycles.
